The issue of Ethernet versus Fieldbus is by no means a new debate in the industrial sector, with each having its own pros and cons for any given application.

According to the latest annual survey of the industrial network market by HMS Industrial Networks, Industrial Ethernet now accounts for 46% of the market, up from 38% last year, with wireless technologies now at 6% market share. Combined, Industrial Ethernet and Wireless now account for 52% of the market, while fieldbuses are at 48%.

You can find further details in the story, right.
