As plans for Brexit continue afoot, it is encouraging that the UK Government seems to be taking positive steps to shore up the industrial sector. Indeed, the PM used used her first regional Cabinet meeting to launch proposals for a modern Industrial Strategy to build on Britain's strengths and tackle its underlying weaknesses, with a view to helping secure a future as a competitive, global nation.

Widely welcomed as an important first step in creating an effective long-term plan, the strategy includes an Industrial Digitalisation Review. Chaired by Juergen Maier, CEO Siemens UK and Ireland, the review is tasked with assessing how the UK can benefit from accelerated adoption of digital technology across advanced manufacturing.
