You don't have to listen to, or indeed read, any mainstream media report covering industrial robotics for long to realise that the perception can be of a technology that is poised to take jobs and threaten livelihoods. Add to this the traditional threatening image of AI in popular science fiction - think HAL or Skynet - and it seems as if there is a long way to go before robotics and automation is accepted as a positive in society.

Intended to help breakdown negative views, a recent art installation at the V&A made use of industrial robotics and automation technologies from companies including Rockwell Automation, Adelphi Automation, KUKA Robotics, SCM Handling and Autodesk. You can read more in the story, right.
