Not long after the UK's Manufacturing Technology Centre called for greater contributions to stem the additive manufacturing skills shortage, Siemens has announced plans to invest £27m in a 3D-printing factory for Worcester-based Materials Solutions; its 3D printing specialist.

The investment will allow the firm to ramp up production and is also expected to support the creation of around 55 high quality new jobs, increasing Materials Solutions' team to 80.
